PTA President's Letter PDF Print E-mail
Hello Central/Emerson families! Now that the holidays are behind us and the New Year has begun we would like to thank all of you who have supported our schools in the past year. Our spirits are high and we believe that with the momentum we have we will finish strong! It’s the start of a New Year and many of you may have made a resolution, or perhaps a goal, that is important to you. As parents you may be determined to remain organized this year, get all the important dates on the calendar, become physically fit, or just keep up with all the other obligations our families have outside of school. Why not encourage your children to set a goal for themselves and watch them soar? Our teachers have been doing a great job engaging our children in the classroom, and hopefully we are finding ways to increase our children’s thirst for learning in the home. This is not only a way to enhance your child’s education, but also another way to become more involved with our children. The PTA Board also has goals for the 2009-2010 school year. They are as follows: • Continue to promote school spirit and family involvement • Increase PTA membership • Encourage communication between home and school via website, school and PTA newsletters and various meetings • Earn an identity as a friendly, approachable organization and follow-through on all communications with persons wanting to volunteer • Obtain feedback on PTA sponsored programs • Encourage ELL families to participate in the PTA Many of you may have the perception that those of us on the PTA Board are only responsible for planning bake sales and popcorn parties. Although that is part of what we do, our main goal is to enrich the learning experiences of Central/Emerson students in many different ways. We are all about forming a team between parents and teachers to accomplish goals our teachers and staff may not be able to achieve otherwise. Please know that another goal of your PTA this year is to demonstrate how service-oriented our Board is and that our number one priority is each child attending Central/Emerson. When we look at the faces of our Board members we see the faces of their children. It helps keep us motivated to continue striving for excellence in the events and activities we plan as a PTA. Please join us in this effort and start by joining PTA as we continue to make this school year the best one yet! Please feel free to contact us by sending a note or better yet attending the next PTA meeting at the Snohomish Public Library, Wednesday, February 10th at 7PM.

Involvement in the PTA provides a unique understanding of and appreciation for our schools and is a very personally rewarding experience. We encourage everyone to reflect on their gifts and talents and consider what they have to offer. Thanks in advance for your willingness to serve. Our kids deserve the best educational experience we can provide them. Please feel free to contact any one of us with questions you may have. WELCOME
Welcome to the website of the Central Emerson Elementary PTA, serving our students, staff and families. You will find that we have a very fun and active PTA organization at Central/Emerson Elementary. The PTA is a great way to be involved with your child’s education and contribute to the enrichment of Snohomish's programs. It’s also a great way to get to know the faculty and staff, as well as the other families that make up the Snohomish community.
